Recently I started a new article series of play session reports for my tabletop games that I’ve played over the past months or so. Read the compilation of the first and previous one from this article. which was the last 3 months of 2023.

Continuing on that, this article is the compilation of my play session reports during Week 5 to Week 8 of 2024, all within the month of February. Usually, I do short reports per week on my BGG blog.

By writing the session reports, it helps me to write the review for the game later. So, it is part of the review process even though I may not even write the review.

Sometimes, I also write a longer session report for one game where I describe what happened turn by turn with more pictures. There are links at the bottom of each entry to BGG post of that long report.

Some new games get more play until it reaches the target minimum of play. They might appear in multiple months. I also revisit some older ones from time to time. These are just games in my collection.

The industry of tabletop games, whether it’s a board game or card game is a very small market. It is very common that the designer of the game start as player then come out with their own design and self publish the game.

With the help of the internet, anybody from around the world can do it. If the game is good enough, even the community will offer some help like translating, game testing, giving some feedback, marketing, etc.

This is true for Goblins vs Zombies card game. The designer is from Indonesia and with the help of the community, the Kickstarter campaign for this game was a success with over 300 people from around the world, bought the game.

So, what is Goblins vs Zombies? How do we play the game? Can we play it in solo mode?

With the internet nowadays, anybody from around the world can access any site. If the site is not available for certain languages, at least, most people can use it if the site use English as the primary language.

Personally I don’t care who the owner is and where are they from as long as I don’t have any problem in using their site. This also applies to online earning programs.

However, some of them will only pay in certain currency like Russian Ruble, instead of USD or any cryptocurrency. While I can trade them into cryptocurrency, there is a minimum.

Because of that, I thought I probably need to have another source that might pay me with that currency so I can trade them sooner. After that I found LosEna.net, a site by Losena Team Group with a moose as the icon.

This is relatively still a new PTC site at this point and currently only available in Russian language. As non Russian and do not speak Russian, I can still use it with the help of my browser’s translator without any issue.

So, who is this Losena Team Group behind LosEna.net? Is LosEna.net legit or scam? How do we earn and how do we get paid?

This next cryptocurrency faucet has a very weird domain name and suffixes, Snails.racing. Yet, this is one of the older programs out there that are still paying.

I think it has been around since the only micro wallet was FaucetHub.io. They are still offering PPC coins among more popular coins like DOGE, LTC, BCH or DASH.

It is very common nowadays for anybody to have multiple separate faucets offering different coins. Usually I thought that this kind of programs are offering the same value per claim, just with different currencies.

Most of the time, we can only see the amount in that coin but we don’t know for sure when we convert those amount to one currency like USD. With Snails.racing, the owner is offering different reward per faucet claim for each coin.

Even the bonus to boost the rewards are different. If we don’t check them out, we will be spending the same amount of time and effort to gain less reward than we can.

So, who is this Snails.racing? Is Snails.racing legit or scam? How can we earn from them and how do we get paid?

Some people don’t have that many space to store that many games and board game tend to have a very big size for its box. Not only that, when we do play, it will take a lot of time to set up and play which not everybody can have that.

So, designers of some well received board games tried to create a smaller, compact, portable version of the game. They have to translate some elements and even components into a simplified version without losing the experience that the board game can offer.

I did a review before for the smaller version of Peloponnes and this time it is the card game for The Castles of Burgundy. The designer is considered as one of the prominent designer in the board game industry.

Usually I will wait to get paid first from a program before writing a review about them. However, some programs will take too long before that happens, if ever because of many things. The low earning rate, high withdrawal limit, no other earning options are just a few of many possible reasons.

FreeBitcoin.io is one of them. It has been a couple of months since I joined them and after claiming a lot of times from their faucet, I’m still far away from withdrawing the funds.

I have to say that this could be even worse than Bitnyx.com and yet, they are still around. Some people claimed that they are getting paid from this one and, at this time, they have almost 250,000 members after one and half a year.

I want to say that they might be scam but, at the same time, we can get in touch with them via Twitter and they are still constantly offering promos there. Even though those promo won’t exactly help us get our earning faster.

Nowadays in tabletop game industry, anybody can design different kinds of games. Not every game is for everybody but there are always games for everyone. Some people might even say that there are too many games that one person can play.

With too many options, when looking for the next game to play, it’s better to look for similarities or games with the same type or genre. Just like when watching some movies. Maybe even just mentioning the name of the game’s designer gives similar info as giving the name of the film’s well-known director.

While it is not ideal but it is a better way for a player to find the game they more likely to like. Luckily, game designers are also a gamer who tends to like, play and design certain types of games. Even if the designer didn’t design the game we already like, they can take inspiration from it and maybe come out with something different.

That is the case with this next game called Firm with Brownies, designed by Shun and Aya Taguchi. I haven’t played any of their previous games but they took inspiration from the game that I already like called Oh My Goods! by Alexander Pfister. I already wrote a review about that before.

There is no point on playing this new game if it is not better than the inspiration or introduces some new ideas. People will just play the existing one that is already well received by other gamers.

While better or worse in quality can be a bit subjective assessment, after playing this game, I can say that it is different enough.  I can see that some may find it better than Oh My Goods!.
